E-Verify is a free online service which allows employers to electronically verify the employment eligibility of their new hires.  E-Verify is operated by the Department of Homeland Security and a case starts with the completion of a Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Form.  The Form I-9 is completed, in part, by both the employee and the employer and has specific timeframes and guidelines throughout.
